Roads 1 Maintenance Person (3 Positions)
(Temporary Full Time – November 2024 to March 2025)
The Town of Wasaga Beach is seeking energetic, self-motivated Roads 1 Maintenance Person(s) to operate and maintain vehicles and equipment, necessary in carrying out the various winter operations and maintenance works in the Public Works Department, in a safe and appropriate manner.
Qualifications:
- Ontario Secondary School diploma (or equivalent);
- Possess a valid Ontario Driver’s Class “DZ” License – Acceptable Abstract will be required upon hire;
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience working on similar equipment and demonstrated experience in the safe operation of heavy-duty vehicles, including single axle and tandem axle plow and sander combination units, road and drainage maintenance experience and truck safety;
- Perform other such duties as may be assigned from time to time normally assigned to other job classifications;
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with an ability to complete forms and records accurately;
- Knowledge and understanding of, and ability to apply, relevant safety policies, standards and legislation (Ontario Occupational Health and Safety Act, WHMIS, Highway Traffic Act, etc.);
- CPR and First Aid Training preferred;
- Ability to Work Winter Operations Shift Times (5:00 am - 1:30 pm OR 1:30 pm - 10:00 pm);
- Occasional weekend and call-in response may be required;
- Ability to provide an acceptable criminal reference check upon hire;

Hourly rate: $26.11 per Schedule ‘A’ of the Collective Agreement.
Note: Article 11.05 “Trial Period” and Schedule “A” will be adhered to.
