(Temporary Part Time; 18 hours/week; April 1 – August 30, 2024)

The Town of Wasaga Beach is seeking creative, energetic and self-motivated team players to perform the duties and responsibilities of the Recreation Associate.

General Responsibilities:  Provide support to the Recreation Division through front line recreation program facilitation, delivery and customer service.  
Qualifications:

  • Diploma (or in progress of obtaining) in Recreation and Leisure Services, Sports Administration, Therapeutic Recreation or equivalent combined experience and education;
  • Strong computer skills in, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Outlook);
  • Experience working or volunteering in sport, recreation, or in a municipal setting;  
  • Strong interpersonal and verbal communication skills are required;
  • Strong time management with the ability to multitask effectively;
  • Standard First Aid and CPR/AED are required;
  • Current and appropriate Criminal Records Check – Vulnerable Sector Screening required upon hire;
  • Valid Ontario G Class driver’s license in good standing and ability to provide an appropriate driver’s abstract upon request;
  • General knowledge of the Occupational Heath and Safety Act;
  • Ability to work a variety of shifts, including days, evenings, weekends.

Rate of Pay Range: $18.95-$20.02 per hour
