Team Lead-Creative Services

Wasaga Beach, ON, Canada
Full Time
Communications
Mid Level

The Town of Wasaga Beach is one of the fastest-growing municipalities in Canada and home to the longest freshwater beach in the world. Every year, millions of visitors enjoy our community, our 14-kilometre sandy beach, and our concert and festival programming.

In 2023, the Town’s annual Memories of Summer concert attracted more than 10,000 people to our spectacular beachfront for a live-music experience, and in 2024, we hosted Canadian rock royalty Burton Cummings and Blue Rodeo for our first-ever winter music festival.

Last year, the Town also launched a new corporate and tourism visual identity. Now, we are taking action to re-imagine our beachfront, re-think our approach to special events and launch a new, ambitious tourism strategy.

Our goal is to evolve into a world-class, 4-season destination that will ignite tourism in south-central Ontario, and significantly elevate quality of life for our full-time residents.

General Responsibilities:

The Team Lead, Creative Services will play an important role in this transformation.

Reporting directly to the Director of Communications and Intergovernmental Affairs, you will be responsible for providing inspiring graphic design and content creation services that will:

  • promote the Town of Wasaga Beach as an extraordinary lifestyle and tourism destination
  • raise awareness of services, special events and festivals delivered by the municipality
  • measurably raise the bar for digital communications in the most iconic beach community in Ontario
As the Team Lead, Creative Services, you will be self-motivated to develop award-worthy campaigns, content and designs that elevate the Town’s advertising, digital marketing, integrated marketing campaigns, social media feeds, Instagram grids – and corporate and tourism brands.

You will provide technical expertise in the creation of a wide range of deliverables (advertisements, posters, publications, marketing materials, videos, social media content, etc.) and be responsible for coordinating internal design resources and external vendor pools to ensure consistent, on-time delivery of digital and printed content. This includes but is not limited to: internal and external communications, presentations, campaigns, landing pages, reports, videos and marketing materials.

Your design work will make a measurable difference through:
  • how much more sponsorship dollars we raise;
  • how many more concert and event tickets we sell;
  • how much more community participation there is in our programming; and
  • how the Town’s brand is strengthened and perceived inside and outside our community.
We will support your success, and we will celebrate it all, together, by proactively applying for awards and recognition.

What we offer: The Town of Wasaga Beach offers competitive salaries, generous health and dental benefits, professional development opportunities, OMERS pension, and the opportunity to have your creative work seen across Simcoe County, Ontario and Canada.
